          Deric is a NYC School Assistant Principal on Staten Island.  Deric is co-founder and owner of Science Fellows Ltd. and is extensively involved in Lego Robotics at all levels.  He has worked with students, formed teams and competed on local, state and national levels in the Lego Robotics arena.  Both he and his team of successful coaches have guided their teams on more then one occasion to

1st Place in the New York State FIRST LEGO League Tournament.  They have successfully competed against teams from all fifty states as well as against Great Britain, Singapore, China, Japan, Columbia, and Australia.  In December 2004/January 2005  he was acknowledged as having implemented one of the top 10 science and technology programs in the country by the Saturn UAW AFT Partnership. In 2006 he was the recipient of the Excellence in Education Award sponsored by Staten Island Academy which honors educators who dedicate their life to opening the minds and hearts of students and helping them realize their full potential.
 
As a member of the New York City FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Planning Committees he volunteers and assists in various competitions, tournaments, programs and activities of FIRST in New York City / New Jersey FLL.
 
 

          Randi was our instructor this past Spring in our first after school robotics program, has worked and trained with Deric Borrero and has enjoyed much success in the Lego Robotics arena, bringing her teams to victory in numerous competitions on both a local and national level.  She is a school guidance counselor, mentor and Lego coach at I.S. 72 on Staten Island.  She is well known for her hands-on approach to meeting children on their individual levels and guiding them to meet their long term goals.




          Austin Krauza is a 14 year old student at Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island. He is currently working as an mentor teaching the students how to build and program the Lego Robot.
